I would like to advise any individual that is thinking of learning the art of penetration testing or just looking to learn how to test their own network security to contact 7Safe, their URL is http://www.7safe.com
I have recently attended their CSTA ethical hacking course in order to learn the skills that will enable me to undertake this as a career.
This is my feedback on the course
I would like to start with an extreme thank you to the course instructor Mr. “Adam Bateman” whom without his help I would not have passed the test, I would like to point out that he really knows his stuff, he is the type instructor that has gained his skills from the field, not a book like many trainers, he is an extremely professional trainer, and is the type of instructor that can get the subject matter over in a way that is clear and easy to understand, he is very understanding and is only to wiling to assist in answering any question that you may have, the course is structured in slide show then practical exercise manor, that means that the subject matter can be brought out in a theory based way and the test labs then strengthen the theory. The test labs and disk that are provided on the first day of the course for the students to take away is also a very useful and item on the course so that any student with a laptop can install the tools and practice if they so choose
in the evening, this I also found useful as any sections that needed to be recovered I could do using their lab tools in the room at the end of each day. The course is a fine balance between theory and practical and the test at the end of the course is a god way of testing you skills that has been acquired throughout the course.
The test.
In many exams that I have participated in I have found trick questions and questions that do not make sense, or have that many lines that by the time you have got to the end of the question you have forgotten what the question was asking you in the first instance. Well with the CSTA exam it is not like that it is a simple strait forward question and answer, their are no trick questions and you do not need to be Hine Stine to understand the questions.
The Staff.
I would like to say thanks to Mr. “Chris Raven” for his assistance in making special arrangements for me with regards to my test, Chris is the man you want on your side, I would like to think Kim for her help with re-arranging my course dates, but most of all would like to say thanks to all the staff at 7safe that worked behind the scenes, the people that you don’t see that make the company run as a smooth well organised company should be.
People with disabilities
I do have a disability, and am also dyslexic and found that this was not an issue, I take prescripted medication and this was not an issue, Adam provided me with a chair and was only to make allowances if I needed to move way form my desk during the course, in general they will from my experience try to accommodate you in any way they can this i have found is not the same on all courses.
In my opinion if you are going to think of any training is the IT security field I would strongly recommend that you contact them first.
