Most 802.11b cards work off the same frequency as 802.11g (2.4 GHz)
but 802.11a operates on 5 GHz. So you would need an 802.11a card if
you want to test for that infrastructure. As for 'speedboost' it makes
no difference in scanning for AP's.

Sean had a good note in that you will want a couple of antenna's (at
least one omni and one directional). The higher the db the better. If
you need connectors you can get them easily at
http://www.cantenna.com/.
