Gary,
We are looking to purchase a device along the same lines. From my research
so far, I think that you are going to be hard pressed to find a good layer 1
and layer 2 device any cheaper than a few grand. We are currently looking
to getting a YellowJacket from www.bvsystems.com which starts at around
$2800. I think it may be cheaper if you already have a compatible iPaq. It
sounds like it might be a great tool to have.

Network Magazine had an article about various tools that mentions it and
other tools:

Subject: HW/SW Rogue AP Wireless Detection

> Hello, there, I am looking for anyone who has had experience with a
combined (pref. PDA) device for signal detection/analysis. I am familiar
with the Fluke Ipaq-based product
(http://www.flukenetworks.com/us/LAN/Handheld+Testers/WaveRunner/Overview.ht
m), but it is quite expensive (app. $2500 US or more). The rogue AP
detection is a crucial part of this. Any thoughts?
