('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) Pen-Testing a network without any previous knowledge of security testing is extremely difficult, if not impossible without the years of research most people go through before attempting such a feat. Though, it would be possible to derive atleast some information regarding your companies security. A good article to start with is actually provided by security focus:

http://www.securityfocus.com/infocus/1591

It basically details the broad methodology of performing internet security assessments. It won't tell you anything specific regarding tools and procedures, but if you're willing to do the leg-work and research the procedures as you come to them, it should give you a good start.
