enabling ffs softupdates

Enable a scheme that uses partial ordering of buffer cache operations to allow metadata updates in FFS to happen asynchronously. For more details see ffs_softupdates(4).

In other words, enable softupdates on your ffs partitions.

• recompile kernel with:

      option	FFS_SOFTUPDATES
  

• reboot in singleuser mode: boot -s
• tunefs -s enable <special> ; reboot -n;

      where <special> is the raw device of the partition you want to enable softupdates on.  e.g. rwd0a
