Running as root, I am trying to change the user and group ownership
of all files within a directory structure. I am finding that the
ownership on some files is not changed. I've tried two methods:
chmod -R datatel:clive *
and
find . -print | xargs chown datatel:clive
For the second method I have verified that the 'find' command is
finding all of the files including the ones whose ownership does not
change. I also verified that I can individually change the ownership
of the files that the above two methods "miss."
Any suggestions are welcome.
