It actually is that easy. We did that very thing. Our cell mgr was an
L2000 running 11.11, and we upgraded to an rx4640 running 11.23. Once the
fresh install was done on 11.23 and given DP patches to match what we had
on 11.11, we shut DP down and copied /etc/opt/omni and /var/opt/omni over
from the old system, then brought DP back up on the new system. Voila!

Note that our new system retained the IP address that belonged to our old
system, so we didn't have to get new DP licenses. If your IP is changing,
get your updated codewords in advance.

nl 11.11 to itanium 11.23

Hi - We are moving from hp-ux 11.11 pa-risc to 11.23 Itanium. I need help
in migrating data protector 5.50 from pa-risc 11.11 to 11.23 itanium. Has
anyone done this migration? My approach is this:
- Fresh install data protector on itanium
- Restore data and database from pa-risc to itanium server
- Done

That is so easy! But I don't think it will work like that.
Thanks for your help!

Stephanie
