Hi Admins,
I have a problem with our backup tape. We use a HP DDS4 Tape Drive
(HP C5683A) on a HP B2000 workstation with HP-UX 10.20 installed.
From fbackup I get this messages:
....
fbackup(3003): normal EOT
fbackup(3316): enter 'yes' when volume 2 is ready on /dev/rmt/1m, or
'no' to discontinue:
fbackup(3004): writer aborting
...
EOT means "End Of Tape". But, the amount of the 4 directories, I want
to be backuped, is about 18.5 Gigabyte. I checked this with "du -sk".
A DDS4 should hold 20-40GB.
The device file is:
# ll /dev/rmt/1m
crw-rw-rw- 2 bin bin 205 0x033000 Jan 27 03:48 /dev/rmt/1m
result of du -sk:
17838163 /path/to/dir1
29210 /path/to/dir2
145254 /path/to/dir3
11278 /path/to/dir4
Does anybody has an idea why I can't write more than about 18-19 GB
to the tape drive?
Thank you for response :-)
Kurt
