Thanks to Bill Hassell for his comments about checking dmesg. He also
mentioned the root cause might be shared memory limits. He also said to
check the filesystem (fsck). Finally, he added that most errors from
fbackup/frecover have never been documented. We check dmesg, the raid array
hardware log, and performed a fsck on the filesystem. Nothing pointed to
problems in reading the file system or to a disk error. As a last resort,
we reboot the K380 (uptime of 380 days). We have not seen the problem for
the last 20 days.

We havea K-380 running 10.20 w/DDS-3 autoloader. Recently we started
getting the following messages during the fbackup session:

I have searched the archive and the itrc forum to no avail on a clear cut
answer. Does this point to errors reading the physical disk volumes or
errors with the fbackup reader process? I have checked syslog and the raid
array log and no disk scsi errors are present.
