[HPADM] /sbin/sh script taking 100% CPU

Today we ran into an issue..A script (run a /sbin/sh)
took 100% CPU on out prod system. This script runs as
cron and updates the .rhosts file (we need this file).
There was a for loop inside the script which performs
nslookup (which i think never returned anything). My
question is
1. should this script be run in /sbin/sh and what are
the negative effects of that?
2. I think it was running the nslookup command to get
the full hostname with domain info. Is it a good idea
to run nslookup inside a for loop. If there is an
issue in getng the info wont it go around? what are
the best way to pickup a full hostname with domain
info in that case?

Please advise.
