I have a file that is actively open and being written to by a daemon. The
thing is, if I trim the file like this:
# cat > wormd_log
^D
#
The filesystem usage immediately shrinks, the file appears for a moment as
zero length, then, suddenly, "ls -la" will show the file back to its
original (huge) size. The output of bdf, however, shows the freed up space.
What could cause this?
