If you're looking to ask the HP box itself what ports are open, you can
use "netstat -a". Anything in the "LISTEN" state is open.
If you're looking to probe a remote HP box (or any other box for that
matter), there are several options. The one I use most is nmap
(www.insecure.org/nmap). Another one I use from time to time is Nessus
(www.nessus.org). It's a little more involved than nmap, but it is also
more broad in its scope.
Hope that helps,
Roy
