I am preparing to participate in a DR test this week. My first step will be
rebuilding the OS using make_tape_recovery media. I have a question
relating to the recreation of the numerous volume groups/logical volumes
for the Informix database. There will be a total of 118 logical volumes of
raw disk space. It would save me a great deal of effort and time if I could
run a vgexport -p -m newmap.map /dev/vginfxdata to create the map file
(stored on the make_tape_recovery) which I could then use on the new
system. This would involve running a vgimport -v -m newmap.map
/dev/vginfxdata pointing to the new devices found after running an ioscan
-fnC disk. Has anyone tried this?
