[HPADM] speed up - change Kernel Parameters?

Hallo,

model: U 9000/782/C200+ (about 5-6 years old)
OS: HP-UX B.11.11
RAM: 512 MBbyte

I installed HP-UX 11.11 in its 64bit version on the machine above. Since
then the computer seems to be quite slow. "top" doesn´t show any
"abnormalities" though - at least I could never detect any.

specifying slow:
We are especially using accoustic-measurement software, no CAD
applications (which I suppose are quite RAM-Consuming). However after
starting the application, the computer seems to "hang" from time to time.
No input by keyboard or mouse is possible. After about 1 minute input is
possible again.

Do you know if it makes sense to change some kernel-parameters in order to
"speed up" the computer? Which kernel parameters would you try to change?
(maxdsiz?)
Is the machine simply too old for HP-UX11.11?

I found the same effect on another similarly installed machine, which is
the same model but has only 256Mbyte RAM.

Thank you for your help.
