I want to create a depot with the following requirement.
1. This depot should contain 2 bundles (BUNDLE01 and BUNDLE02). BUNDLE01
should be install first.
2. It would first check to see what if any version of BUNDLE01 is already on
the system. If the version already installed is older than the version of
BUNDLE01 in the new depot currently being installed OR if no BUNDLE01
depot is installed onthe machine, then the BUNDLE01 install from the new
depot will proceed, otherwise not.
The above seems logical to me. But it does not work like that. If we
define BUNDLE01 as a co-requisite for BUNDLE02 (and both of them are in the
same bundle or in the same depot), then the depot installer tries to
install BUNDLE01 REGARDLESS of the BUNDLE01 version already on disk. And
if the version on disk is newer, the BUNDLE01 install fails, and as a
result, the whole depot install fails.
swinstall fails with the following:
* "hpntc040:/": 10 filesets have a version with a higher
revision number already installed.
ERROR: "hpntc040:/": The software dependencies for 1 products or
filesets cannot be resolved.
ERROR: "hpntc040:/": 1 bundles have a version with a higher revision
number already installed.
* "hpntc040:/": 2 bundles cannot be installed because none of
their filesets can be installed.
* The analysis phase failed for "hpntc040:/".
* Analysis and Execution had errors.
How to create the depot with the above requirements? OR Can we do it in some
onther way?
Help me to fix these thing
