Hi,
Patch management is on of the areas, where HP-UX just plain sucks! :) I'm really interested in hearing, how the rest of you handle patching..
Besides HP-UX, we use Debian - the Debian package management system rocks! Big time! When comparing the two, HP-UX looks ancient!
Well, at least patch management on HP-UX doesn't suck as much as patch management on Solaris! :)

I am very tired with the HP-UX patches. It's taking lots of my times just trying to keep up all the HP-UX patches. Here are the options, and what is the good option to go? 1. Apply patches when receive email from HP "ITRC Patch Bulletin' - I can't keep up with this and can't afford to reboot systems every times. 2. Ask HP to do the patches analysis quarterly - This will cost money (ASE days). 3. Download SupportPlus bundle then apply all missing patches. - Is this a good idea to do? Thanks. __________________________________________ Benjamin Le Sr. Systems Administrator Information Technology Services Portland Community College Voice:(503)-977-4736 Fax:(503)-977-4987 Mailto:ble@pcc.edu http://www.pcc.edu -- ---> Please post QUESTIONS and SUMMARIES only!! <--- To subscribe/unsubscribe to this list, contact majordomo@dutchworks.nl Name: hpux-admin@dutchworks.nl Owner: owner-hpux-admin@dutchworks.nl Archives: ftp.dutchworks.nl:/pub/digests/hpux-admin (FTP, browse only) http://www.dutchworks.nl/htbin/hpsysadmin (Web, browse & search)
