Good day all.
I've recently been having a problem with a DDS3 tape drive which up to now
has been no problem.( HP9000 D series , 10.20 )
I have the following repeated error in syslog whenever my backup tries to
run......
Aug 30 01:09:06 eagle vmunix: SCSI: Target detected parity error -- lbolt:
14824751, dev: cd011080
Aug 30 01:09:06 eagle vmunix:
Aug 30 01:09:06 eagle vmunix: SCSI: Unexpected Disconnect -- lbolt:
14824751, dev: cd011080, io_id: 1024df4
Aug 30 01:09:07 eagle vmunix: SCSI: Target detected parity error -- lbolt:
14824978, dev: cd0110c0
Aug 30 01:09:07 eagle vmunix:

After looking at the archives my gut feeling is the drive is toast.
I've recreated the devices associated with the drive and thought I was okay
last week after successfully testing write and read with tar and fbackup.
But, alas, earwax.....
Suggestions?
