Those of you attending HP World next week may find the following
announcement of interest. The Performance SIG (Special Interest Group)
will meet on Thursday and 12:10 PM. What is the Performance SIG? A group
whose goals for the meeting are:
Opportunities to learn of others challenges with performance.
Opportunities to learn of others solutions.
Opportunities to grow in understanding regarding performance.
There is an art and a science regarding the area of Performance. There are
methodologies, tools, and basic understandings that a system administrator
has to know to be success.
A number of highly experienced and qualified HP Performance GURUS have been
invited.
Here is a summary of what we hope to do:
"System Administrators have a very complex job that includes solving
performance problems and providing performance management for the systems
they administer. SIG Performance will seek to encourage and provide
training opportunities for System Administrators, programmers and others to
help improve the HP Professionals ability to understand and solve problems
and implement performance management solutions. Additionally, SIG
Performance will act to represent performance issues to Hewlett-Packard."
The meeting will be in either room C10 or C102.
