Hello,
I am trying to upgrade a L1000 Fileserver from HPUX11.00 to HPUX11.11
It seems that I cannot get over the first obstacle:
If I try to install the update-ux command from CD-ROM by typing:
swinstall -r -s /cdrom /Update-UX \@ /var/adm/sw/update-ux.root 2>
/dev/null
(using korn shell)
I get the following message:
======= 07/23/03 09:12:17 EDT BEGIN swinstall SESSION
(non-interactive)
* Session started for user "root@mycomputer".
* Beginning Selection
* "mycomputer:/var/adm/sw/update-ux.root": This target does not
exist and will be created.
* "mycomputer:/cdrom": Cannot open the logfile on this target or
source. Possibly the media is read-only or there is a
permission problem. Check the daemon logfile and
"/var/tmp/swagent.log" on this host for more information.
* Software selection failed for "mycomputer:/cdrom".
* Selection had errors.
======= 07/23/03 09:12:19 EDT END swinstall SESSION (non-interactive)
root is the owner and owns all permissions for /var/adm/sw
/cdrom naturally is not writable ???
Probably a ridiculous error I am making. But I cannot find out what I am
doing wrong?
Has anybody of you experiences with the update-ux command?
Encountered any Problems?
Thank you for your help
Andreas
