[HPADM] maxfiles and maxfiles_lim for Oracle 9i

Good Day Admins,
Our DBA said Oracle told him that the number of file descriptors should be
set to 8,024 plus and ask me to increase the kernel parameters maxfiles and
maxfiles_lim from what is currently set to 2048 to 10,000. This seems like
a dramatic increase to this parameter. Does anyone see any problems with
setting these parameters this high? This is running HPUX 11.0 on a rp7400
with 4-750Mhz processors and 8 gig of memory.

Thanks,
Jim Naylor
