After the emails and docs, here is the basics of what I found out:
10.20: Online jfs requires a license to unlock the cd, but no additional
steps.
11.00: Online jfs require a codeword to unlock the cd and an additional
license that can be put in during the swinstall using the "-ask" or
after the fact using vxlicense -c. There are 4 packages for 11.00. Two
are for servers and 2 are for workstations. The B3929 set is for
servers and the B5118 set is for workstations. The "base" jfs package
with the "CA" suffix (B3929CA, B5118CA) includes online jfs3.3 with it.
You still need the license key. The "OnLine JFS" package with the "BA"
suffix is for OnLine JFS 3.1.
11.i: Online jfs version can be either 3.3 or 3.5 depending on what
package you install from. You need a seperate license to activate
either version of the OnLine JFS.

I'm trying to figure out some licensing issues for OnLineJFS. This is
based off of installation guides at docs.hp.com.
It looks like you could install it for 10.20 straight from the cd's,
but
needed to juggle some patching.
The 11.00 version seems to need a key to unlock the cd and also a
seperate license key for the vxlicense -c
The 11.11 seems to just need a key to unlock the cd to get to the
software, but no additional license.
Can anyone verify that the 11.00 version is the only one that needs
the
extra license and cannot be functionally installed from an unlocked
cd?
