Good Day Admins,
We are curently testing a New itanium2 (rx5670) box running hp-ux
11.22 and for some reasons
I/O on the local disks is very slow ??? it should have an internal transfer
rate of about 80MB/secs
( according to HP ) I actually have IDE drives (on pc/LINUX) that perform
better ,is that normal???
its a very basic setup as we are on a trial period on that machine
disk 0 0/0/2/0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP
73.4GMAN3735MC
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0
disk 1 0/0/2/0.2.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP
73.4GMAN3735MC
/dev/dsk/c0t2d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t2d0
lvmtab:
/dev/vg00
/dev/dsk/c0t2d0
/dev/dbvg
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0
here are the tests i did
file1 is a 500M file
each time i do those I/O operations cpu never excedes 5%
# timex cp $DISK1/file1 $DISK1/file2
real 1:39.74
user 0.02
sys 3.37
# timex cp $DISK1/file1 $DISK2/file1
real 51.23
user 0.02
sys 3.15
# timex cp $DISK2/file1 $DISK2/file2
real 1:11.68
user 0.02
sys 3.29
Filsystem information :
/dev/vg00/lvol3 / vxfs delaylog 0 1 #DISK1
/dev/vg00/lvol1 /stand vxfs delaylog 0 1 #DISK1
/dev/vg00/lvol4 /home vxfs delaylog 0 2 #DISK1
/dev/vg00/lvol5 /opt vxfs delaylog 0 2 #DISK1
/dev/vg00/lvol6 /ora vxfs delaylog,nodatainlog,largefiles,rw,suid 0 2
#DISK1
/dev/vg00/lvol7 /tmp vxfs delaylog 0 2 #DISK1
/dev/vg00/lvol8 /usr vxfs delaylog 0 2 #DISK1
/dev/vg00/lvol9 /var vxfs delaylog 0 2 #DISK1
/dev/dbvg/klv /k vxfs rw,suid,largefiles,delaylog,datainlog 0 2 #DISK2
I also tryed with the nolog option but i didnt gain anything
I am a bit clueless ,did someone come across that problem ?
is it an fs issue or disk config, maybe firmware ??
Any help or pointers would be greatly apreciated.
I will summarize
