Hi All,
I have two directories on different volumes, but with the same name. They
also contain subdirectories with common names. I would like to merge the
two directories safely (that is, without the subdirectories clobbering each
other) and then tar the resultant directory onto a backup tape.
However, I do not have a single volume large to contain the combined
contents of both directories. Is there a way to combined directories while
tarring them onto a tape drive, so that when restored, they restore into a
single directory?
Thanks,
James
