Dear Sysadmins,
I am going to convert all our boxes to HP-UX 11i entirely
(B1000, B2000, J5600, and we will have a rp24xx soon), and
I am wondering which LVM-filesystem combination to go for.
I understand that there is an HP Veritas Volume Manager,
but there is as well a version from Veritas (functionally
different, less powerful, more expensive?). So I am posing
my question: what would be your experiences/suggestions
with volume managers and file systems? So far I was happy
without LVM, just using hfs partitions (a choice introduced
once by old, and weak boxes, where simple LVM/hfs created
too much of an overhead), but now I fear I cannot avoid
any more to have mirrored boot disks, etc. ;-).
Any help would be much appreachiated, I'll summarize to
the list.
Best,
Michael
