Thanks to all who responded. As usual, it was a simple oversight on my part
and thank you to Richard Goodwin who brought it to my attention. Here is his
reply and below that is my original post:
ANSWER:
if you are mounting the BCVs on a different system, you do not need to run a
vgchgid.(as i understand it, you'd only need to do that if you are mounting
them on the same system as the source of the BCVs)
