[HPADM] Changing Subnet Mask without rebooting the system

SAs:

I need to change only the subnet mask of some systems.
I am planning to do the following:
  ifconfig lanX xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <new subnet mask>

and I would also update the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf
file.

I just want to be sure that I can do this remotely
without rebooting the box. Remotely in the sense, do I
have to be at the console to do this.? I am assuming
that I dont need to be physically in front of the
console to do this change. Has anybody who has tried
doing similar exercise face any unforeseen problems?

Thanks in advance SAs:
NEIL
