[HPADM] Upgrading HPPI ?

Is it safe to upgrade HPPI to the lastest version for HPUX 11.x

The install procedure mention to swremove the package
does this remove also all printers configurations or
does those a filed in a "safe" place to let the upgrade procedure
runs smoothly ?
