Thanks to those who replied!

David replied with the command to show me what I was looking for which was:

  #echo "0x2000?4X " | adb /dev/dsk/c0t6d0

(PVID is last two sets of numbers)

To get the LVMREC:
#echo "0x2000?4s " | adb /dev/dsk/c0t6d0

To get the PV ID:

#echo "0x2000?4X " | adb /dev/dsk/c0t6d0

(PVID is last two sets of numbers)

To get Volume Group ID:

echo "0x12000?8X " | adb /dev/dsk/c0t6d0

(first two sets of numbers on second line should be the same
number put into the map file when using the -s option to vgexport).

Subject: [HPADM] Display PVID?

Is there a tool to be able to display the ID of a physical volume under
HP-UX?

For example I believe when you use pvcreate it puts a unique number or ID on
the disk. I want to be able to tell if a disk is just an alternate path or a
different disk without having to include it in the volume group to find out.

Thanks,

- Justin
