The answer..
What I had to do is add my domainname after my hostname on the client.
/etc/hosts entries
ip_addr hostname hostname.domainname.com
ip_addr cellserver cellserver.domainname.com
Thanks a million gents...
Now to get oracle to stop and start correctly....yikes!

I've got OBII ver 3.0, (upgrade very soon) HPUX 11.0 cell server, 11.11
client. I just installed the client, and am testing a backup.
The following error is what I'm getting:
>From BDA-NET@< client hostname> Test backup Time:
Can not connect to Media Agent on < cell server>, port 53707(IPC can not
connect System error:[238] connection timed out)=> aborting.
The client machine time is about a half hour slow.(waiting for time to
bounce it)
Hostnames resolve fine, I'm using local host files.
Any Ideas?
