RapidStream 2000 network security appliance provides reliable, integrated firewall and virtual private networking (VPN) for small- to medium-sized enterprises. Up to 200 remote sites or users can be simultaneously connected over a VPN, saving significant cost and deployment time compared to long-distance leased lines, frame relay, and dial-up remote access servers. The 2000 is packaged in slim, compact enclosures that save valuable rack space.

The RapidStream 2000 features three 10/100 Ethernet ports (public, private, and DMZ), and offers wire-speed Fast Ethernet firewall performance and up to 50 Mbps 3DES throughput.

The five-processor architecture of the 2000 is based on RapidCore®, a RapidStream-developed programmable security ASIC. RapidCore delivers high-performance firewall, VPN encryption, Quality of Service (QoS), load balancing, and Network Address Translation (NAT).

The 2000 offers high-end security features such as multi-tenant security, VPN tunnel switching, and stateful packet inspection firewall. The 2000 can be installed and managed by novice security administrators. Standard features include a robust Java-based graphical user interface (GUI) manager, an auto device discovery utility, installation wizards, an integrated policy checker, and a powerful command line interface (CLI). For global management, an intuitive, fully customized, centralized policy management server is also available to simplify deployment and network policy analysis from a central location.
