The iSensor is a Linux-based appliance installed between a customer’s network and Internet connection. Linked to the IMSC, the iSensor monitors every data packet that enters or exits the network, matching packets to known attack signatures (specific data sequences contained within network traffic that indicate suspicious activity). The iSensor detects more than 700 types of attacks, responding automatically when appropriate or alerting security specialists at the IMSC for further investigation and action. The iSensor is installed by an authorized reseller who works with the customer to develop a security policy, which includes protocols for both automatic and manual responses.
