Description:

Hifn’s 7902 broadband security processor is the fastest and first of a new generation of IP core licensing solutions for the small office/home office (SOHO) environment. The 7902 is used in networking devices such as residential gateways, cable and DSL modems and routers. The processor runs with lower power dissipation and is available at a lower price than the competition. It integrates all of Hifn's security functions, including compression, encryption, authentication, public key and random number generation. It is functionally compatible with its market leading predecessor, the 7901, the world’s first broadband security processor currently in high volume production. Hifn’s 7902 third party partnership program is designed to offer broadband equipment manufacturers a comprehensive solution to quickly deploy secured devices. They cover NAT (Network Address Translation), firewall, and virtual private networking with the implementation of the IPSec protocol and In! ternet Key Exchange (IKE). The joint development program delivers the high-performance acceleration of DES and 3-DES encryption algorithms performed by 7902 to multiple, real-time operating systems, including VxWorks, pSOS, Nucleus Plus, and embedded Linux.

Features:

  1. Single chip multi-algorithm acceleration (LZS, 3DES, SHA, PKI, etc.)
  2. Public Key processing unit (2048-bit key lengths) and true random number generator
  3. Concurrent symmetric and public key processing
  4. Compression with LZS and MPPC
  5. Software API and development support
  6. 32 Mbps processing
  7. Multi-protocol support: IPSec, IPPCP (IPCOMP), PPTP, L2TP, PPP and IKE
  8. Improves system throughput
