The Spectra 10000, which utilizes
the BullFrog architecture, delivers extraordinary capacity in a
very small form factor. Incorporating Sony Advanced Intelligent
Tape (AIT) 8mm tape drives, the Spectra 10000 can accommodate from
one to four tape drives, and either 20 or 40 tape cartridge slots
in only 7" of rackmount space. Utilizing today’s AIT-2
tape drives, the Spectra 10000 boasts a native throughput of 24
Megabytes per second (62.4 MB per second compressed) and a native
capacity of two terabytes (5.2 TB compressed). It is available in
SCSI models and integrated Fibre Channel interface and soon, Gigabit
Ethernet.
