The CryptoNotary ToolKit is
the only available Web-based service that allows notaries public
to digitally notarize electronic documents with a CryptoNotary digital
certificate in accordance with the E-Sign Act and established notarial
law, while still relying on the traditional and secure method of
in-person identity authentication. CryptoNotaries verify the client’s
identity, witness the client electronically signing the document
using either a UCC (typed-in) signature or their own digital certificate
and then digitally sign the document themselves. CryptoNotaries
have the ability not only to notarize electronic documents, but
also offer document storage and retrieval services.
The CryptoNotary ToolKit mirrors the traditional notary process with an online twist. Each CryptoNotary seal creates an electronic "envelope" that contains the signed documents, the electronic signatures, a transaction reference number and an image of a notary's official stamp or seal. The CryptoNotary ToolKit includes features such as signature verification and an electronic log book. For complete flexibility, the ToolKit can be used with XML-based Web forms or with stand-alone electronic file types such as .doc, .hml and .pdf.
