The Tandberg DLT Autoloader
provides a compact, affordable storage solution for securing critical
data for large workgroup environments. It uses one Tandberg DLT4000
or Tandberg DLT7000 drive and accommodates up to seven cartridges,
with capacities ranging from 140 GB to 490 GB of data storage, and
transfer rates up to 36 GB per hour. The Tandberg DLT Autoloader
is available in rackmount and tabletop versions, with a compact
footprint that allows two loaders to be installed side-by-side in
a standard 19-inch rack. An optional barcode reader is available
to automate media management operations. The new seven-cartridge
Autoloader is the first DLT automated storage product from Tandberg
Data and is priced to make automating storage and retrieval affordable.
Designed to be an effective alternative to single, external DLT drives, especially in remote offices, smaller LANs and multiple-server sites, the Tandberg DLT Autoloader increases storage capacity and data security, eases network management tasks and reduces both direct costs and administrative overhead. It is easy to operate and maintain, even for inexperienced operators. All autoloader functions can be controlled via an easy-to-use front panel LCD or through host software. Confusing LEDs have been replaced with clear LCD status messages for Autoloader configuration and use. The Tandberg DLT Autoloader supports a wide variety of network and operating systems, including UNIX, Windows NT, NetWare and Linux, and backup and storage management software, such as Seagate Backup Exec, CA ARCserve, Veritas Netbackup, Legato Networker, IBM ADSM and many others.
