The Tandberg SLR50 tape drive
is designed for high-end UNIX workstations, entry-level NT and NetWare
servers and NT and UNIX midrange computers. The Tandberg SLR50 offers
50GB of storage capacity and up to 14.4GB/hr transfer rate, average
file access time of 55 seconds and media load time of less than
30 seconds. The Tandberg SLR50 offers unmatched backward compatibility
from 525MB and scalability up to 100GB of storage capacity in a
single tape drive and 4TB in automation products (the Tandberg SLR100
tape library). Combined with SLR superior reliability (less than
1.5% field returns), broad software support and the added security
of TapeAlert, customer investment protection is assured.
Tandberg SLR products are available as complete turnkey solutions for desktop and network applications or as drive kits without software. The reliability of linear recording technology, combined with the future scalability and backward compatibility offered by Tandberg Data was key to incorporating the Tandberg SLR50 into the product line. For existing customers with Tandberg SLR5 tape drives installed, it offers a seamless transition to higher capacities when their needs expand. Tandberg SLR50 provides the high performance, superior reliability and backward compatibility OEM customers need. Tandberg Data tape drives currently are integrated into servers, workstations and midrange systems from several major international OEMs, including IBM, Sun, Compaq, Siemens-Nixdorf and Fujitsu.
