Tumbler™
1.0

Supplier:

Tao Group
Platforms:

Win 95/98, Win NT, Linux, Elate(RTM), Elate(RTM) J-Engine
Description:

Tumbler™ is a scaleable public key crypto system (PKCS) toolkit using algorithms based upon the manipulation of very small integers. It is the first commercially viable PKCS which does not require the manipulation of extremely large integers or complex structures. As such its key generation speed is substantially faster than its rivals (>1000 times for security levels equivelent to RSA 2048) facilitating the application of one-use disposable keys or multiple keys for long message transactions.

The Tumbler encryption algorithm, NTRU, and its authentication algorithm, PASS, were developed over three years by NTRU Cryptosystems Inc., USA (a fast growing private company with financial backing from Sony Corporation).

Tumbler solves problems for secure transmission on networked home appliances and mobile networked devices where it is not feasible to use other technologies due to limited memory availability and low powered microprocessors.

Features:

  1. High security at high speed - Possible to use only additive operations
  2. Short Keys, Easily generated - Disposable key pairs are feasible
  3. C and Java(TM) language implementations
  4. Low Memory Requirements - The numbers involved in encoding/decoding are fewer than 16 bits
  5. Low Processing requirements
  6. Flexible and customisable
  7. Available for integration into hardware
