CryptoWatch VPN
Gateway 1

Supplier:

ODS Networks
Platforms:

Win 95/98, Win NT
Description:

ODS Networks' CryptoWatch VPN offering is unique in that it offers high speed, strong cryptography. Cryptography is not just unbreakable encryption, but a complete feature set that insures that users are properly authenticated, packet integrity is maintained, users cannot mis-configure or bypass encryption and is immune to common cryptographic exploits like insertion, man-in-the middle and replay attacks. Cryptocom VPN is the only commercially available solution that offers this level of cryptographic integration.

User authentication is a critical factor in implementing a truly secure VPN solution. Cryptocom provides strong, two-factor user authentication tokens integrated in the client software. Most VPN solutions require a third-party token to provide the same level of authentication driving up implementation costs. In addition to offering strong user authentication, Cryptocom VPN also assures the integrity of every packet transmitted.

It is nearly impossible to use data compression techniques on encrypted data due to its random nature. Cryptocom is unique in that it provides 2:1 to 4:1 data compression before encryption takes place. Road warriors will experience maximum data throughput while using Cryptocom, unlike most other VPN solutions that do not offer a pre-compression feature.

CryptoCom offers wide application support and ease-of-use. In addition to supporting the IPSec standard, the gateway and client software supports Windows NT and 95 with virtually any protocol, including IP, IPX, NetBIOS, NetBEUI or even SNA, over any type of network connection (dial-up, frame relay, ISDN, X.25, Ethernet, Token-Ring, etc.).

The remote Cryptocom VPN Client supports Windows NT and Windows 95. Unlike most VPN solutions, the client software completely hides the VPN implementation from the user, requiring only a user password to initiate a session. Moreover, the Cryptocom VPN client is immune to mis-configurations or disabling privacy. The combination of user transparency and tamper-proof security assures privacy is maintained.
