EMS/NETinventory v.6 combines

NETinventory helps you quickly and easily gain control of:
With BindView EMS/NETinventory, you can discover, document, and evaluate PC assets throughout the corporate enterprise and produce the reports necessary to make strategic technology decisions and IT financial plans with confidence. NETinventory runs from the network, eliminating the need for manual inventory of PCs to determine and document the hardware and software installed. NETinventory provides an ongoing asset assessment - alerting you if software has been installed or removed from each PC. As the Year 2000 approaches, the question being asked by network administrators is, "Will PC hardware and the applications that run on them be ready?" The first step to determining Year 2000 readiness is to take an accurate inventory of the hardware installed on the network. This includes checking both the BIOS and the Real Time Clock (RTC) in each of your PCs. The fact is that some PCs shipping as late as 1998 have BIOSes and RTCs that do not pass the Year 2000 test. NETinventory performs eight BIOS and eight RTC tests to determine your PC's readiness - all from the network within a matter of seconds. Once hardware has been evaluated, you need to check software for Year 2000 compliance. NETinventory can help by storing compliance information in its database and comparing it against the software it finds in your environment. NETinventory databases are updated monthly. You can also modify and update the compliance information on your own as you discover information from application vendors. |
