InterScan VirusWall provides
integrated virus detection and removal for Internet-enabled organizations.
All SMTP, HPPT and FTP traffic is scanned in real time for known
and unknown malicious code. If a virus is found, it is isolated
at the server for further action, and e-mail notification is sent
to the sender, recipient, and administrator. The original message,
minus its infected attachment, is delivered as normal.
VirusWall scans inside files compressed with
all major algorithms, and includes MacroTrap™, Trend's generic
macro virus scanning engine that detects and removes known and
unknown macro viruses. It provides automatic web-based updating
that can be prescheduled at specific intervals or accessed manually.
Either approach ensures that the latest pattern updates are delivered
directly from Trend's web site to your system.
VirusWall maintains a comprehensive activity
log, which details for each infected file or attempted security
violation: the origin, name and destination of the file, the date
the file was received, the identity of the virus found, and the
action taken.
VirusWall uses Check Point's CVP API to deliver
seamless integration with FireWall-1, as well as support of FireWall-1
authentication security. Its flexible setup supports any network
topology, including installation on the FireWall-1 machine or
another content security server.
VirusWall can be configured to respond to virus
detection and security violations by:
- Alerting the system administrator
- Isolating the infected file for later cleaning
or other action
- Deleting the infected file
InterScan VirusWall includes Windows GUI and
ISAPI/CGI browser configuration interfaces for management flexibility.
