Unix (primarily Solaris) Sysadmin and Sybase DBA

5 years Sybase DBA (System 4.9.2, 10.x, 11.x).  Specialties include:
- All aspects of Operational DBA: proactive maintenance, backup/restore, 
Performance and tuning, installation and configuration.
- Application DBA skills; SQL coding, stored procedure and trigger
development, Relational Design, Referential Integrity, Index strategies.
SQL Troubleshooting.
- Bourne shell, perl, and sybperl programming for the DBA: extensive 
programming experience to automate ad-hoc and perpetual jobs.  Provided 
major rewrites for dbschema.pl v1.16 1/06/2001, a popular shareware perl
program that extracts DDL from Sybase databases.
- Integrating Powerbuilder, WWW and WebObjects front end applications
to Sybase databases.
- Identities, Sequential Key generators: wrote 6.2.9 of the Sybase FAQ
- Sybase Server configurations: configuring the hardware to integrate
with the Sybase products well (Raid, HA, disk configs, Veritas, 
memory, swap configuration, raw vs file systems, etc)
- Adaptation of Swatch to monitor Sybase environments
- SQL Backtrack: one year of experience w/ the product performing
all different aspects of backup, restoral, incremental, system
conversion, etc.

3.5 Years of Unix SysAdmin work.  Specialties include:
- Extensive Bourne shell programming creating proactive monitoring 
programs for multiple platforms (SunOS, Solaris, HP/UX, DG/UX)
- Soup-to-nuts configuration and support for 2 seperate installations
of Sun machines (soup-to-nuts means, I took shipment of the Sun boxes,
assembled and configured the hardware, brought the machines up on the
network, configured all relevant software, added users, etc).
- Software Distribution systems: creating centralized rdist distribution 
schemes with customized distfiles.  Also worked with HP/UX's netdist
program.
- Packaging: created and maintained several packages of self installing
software (DNS caching server, rtelnet and terminal server s/w,
proactive monitoring suites, other various packages).
