It's got various options, but yes, you can migrate a single LV and it can be
done whilst that LV is open. It's very safe, as it mirrors each individual
partition and only after it's correctly synched does it delete the original.
I've used it on all manner of LVs, on very active systems.

The only down-side, like I said, is that you can't specify exactly where the
partitions are allocated on the new disk: it just uses the intra-volume
allocation policy.

I seem to recall reading that there's a command in AIX 5.2 which will
actually move individual partitions, which would be handy.
