I am seeing unusual numbers in vmstat and topas output in AIX 5.2. I
frequently see i/o wait percentages between 20-40 % even when there is
only 1 process in the i/o waitqueue. Similar apps running on 5.1 never
display such disproportionately high wait %ages, nor do I recall
anything like this in 4.x systems (we dont have any of those anymore).
Anyone seen this and have an explanation for this. Here's some relevant
info.
AIX 5.2 ML2
16 processor, 48 gb Regatta partition
Oracle 9i
