Just "add" the AIX server as a member server for the domain (smbpasswd -j <domain name> -U <administrative user for the domain> )

Asunto: samba and domains and workgroups

I have installed samba on a AIX server that is not part of any domain/workgroup

I want my Windows 2000 client, which is part of a domain, to access a directory on the AIX server

Do I have to make the AIX server part of the domain, somehow? I do not want it to be a domain controller.

Or can my Windows 2000 PC be a member of a workgroup as well as a domain?
