What OS ? If it is version 5, look in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

Look at the Dj macro.

You need a relay agent that can do masquerading. You probably want to
study up on the M4 macro that can set that up. Suggest O'Reilly "Sendmail"
2nd edition, section 19.4, or some other reference. Can get complicated.

Subject: remove hostname from sendmail

Greetings,

What is required to remove the hostname from the domain name of outgoing
email?

When I receive email from my AIX nodes the From is similiar to:
root@nf1n01en0.methodisthealth.org. I would like it to be
root@methodisthealth.org.

Nothing stood out at me in the /etc/sendmail.cf.
