Hi Pat,
we are using AIX Performance Tool Box. Nice and colourfull, but you have to have a good knowledge about AIX and what you want to monitor. Even more experience is required to analyze the results.
However there is another excellent IBM-tool which is free of charge. It is called nmon. See the following URL and maybe it is just the thing you need. Personally I prefer nmon.

Betreff: Performance monitoring
Tried searching the archive and came up empty.
What do you guys recommend or currently use to create a performance baseline and then set thresholds and monitor the system?
I have some basic scripts running now and have started collecting some processor information using sadc/sar, but would like something more comrehensive. Is IBM's Performance Toolbox the best tool for the job?
