either application export/import, NFS, or maybe rsync over rsh might be an

i've done some experimentation with this using a fastt500 as the storage
medium and been completely unsuccessful mounting a drive or snap of a drive
created on one type of host on the other. so you'd have to do it the hard
ware. export move import

Create a file and give it a try. The flat file will come over with a set of
permissions in which you should be able to manipulate on the RH side no
problem.

Has anyone ported AIX filesystem data over to a Linux OS (Redhat?) The data
is stored on an EMC Symmetrix. The EMC will be connected to the Linux
hardware as well. Any suggestions? I have approx 280GB of Lotus Notes data
to move.
