I'm in the process of doing that right now... sorta...

only we're on FastT700's and moving data from an oracle 8i database on AIX 4.3.3 to
RedHat AS2.1 w/ Oracle 9i...

damn slick... an IBM x440 w/ 8-1.9Ghz xeon processors and 8GB RAM just "SMOKES"
an old H50 w/ 3-way 332Mhz and 3GB RAM...

now, my DBA kinda gets away without fixing his application since we just threw
more hardware at the problem.

fyi,
Troy

Subject: Moving AIX 4.3.3 data to Linux OS

Has anyone ported AIX filesystem data over to a Linux OS (Redhat?) The data
is stored on an EMC Symmetrix. The EMC will be connected to the Linux
hardware as well. Any suggestions? I have approx 280GB of Lotus Notes data
to move.
