check your crontab. it won't be a daemon, but accounting will do it (usually runs not under root's crontab). Do you have accounting enabled on this machine? if so, the information isn't lost, just summarized. of course, if you've got some in-house stuff going that does that, that could happen too. by default, that file just grows forever.

The /var/adm/wtmp file is deleted at 04h05 on my server.
So i only have a one day history.

Can you tell me which daemon did that ?
