Hi Bruce,

You will have to boot off from 5.1 cd into Maintenance mode and run a migration or preservation install from there. Do not attemp an update_all as you will more than likely corrupt your system. This comes from experience of another administrator who did it the update_all way, and corurpted a customers system.

Good luck.

Folks,

Is it possible to perform the 4.3.3 to 5.1 upgrade using update_all, or do
you have to choose a Migration or Preservation install? And if possible, is
it acceptable/preferable either way?

Many thanks, and sorry for the long disclaimer on the end ... I have no
control over that.
